What is the Friends of the Wellington Museum?
Since 1954, the ASBL “Les Amis du Musée Wellington” has been bringing together history lovers. It is thanks to their help that the ASBL is what it is today. It acts as the manager of the Wellington Museum and runs its own programme of activities. The latter takes the form of conferences, exhibitions, visits to tourist sites and various fun activities aimed at enhancing the value of the Museum. “The mission of the Friends of the Wellington Museum is to ensure that objectives such as the preservation and enhancement of Wellington’s Headquarters are achieved. In addition, our ambition is to expand into other areas such as history, current affairs, European history and the discovery of the tourist heritage of Belgium and the surrounding countries.
“The Friends of the Wellington Museum live off the museum’s admission fees, subsidies from the Municipality of Waterloo and the Province of Walloon Brabant, as well as membership fees.
