On Saturday 17/09 at 10.30am, Patrick Guérisse will tell the story of his father, Albert Guérisse, who was a Belgian military doctor during the Second World War.
Albert Guérisse, also known as Patrick O’Leary, was a member of the Resistance and organiser of the escape network “the Pat Line”. He was sentenced and deported to the concentration camps of Mauthausen, Natzweiler in Alsace and the Dachau camp.
The Dachau camp opened in 1933 and held up to 31,000 prisoners in 1945. It was on 29 April 1945 that the Dachau camp was liberated by the Americans. Albert Guérisse was one of the survivors.
